Line to Gain and Down marker
Am I the only one who is having a hard time keeping the chains 6ft off the sidelines?
|
Depends somewhat on the crew and if they get all the way back or not, but we are having good luck getting them close, which is getting them back a decent amount.
|
With experienced chain crews, no, I'm having no problem at all. With kids who aren't playing, yeah, a bit. But that's to be expected.

goldcoastump, what exactly are you having a problem with? The chain crew, the team the coaches ? |
Takes occasional prodding, but I have been having decent success with keeping chains 6 ft back. I've told the coaches and chain crew in pregame what to expect which has seemed to help. Worked the LJ last week and had more problem keeping the coaches back without the chains. The chains give a definate boundary which I believe helps keep players and coaches back.

I agre with you phansen. I work the LJ and I try to stay consistant with my partner across the field. He has had a much easier time with the team and the line to gain equipment than I have had on my sideline.

I get the crew moved back and two series later there they are back on the sideline. I finally got upset with them friday night, as a rule I like to have a good relationship with the chain crew but making them stay off the line did not make them happy.
