NFL Sportswatch

How many of you guys have the NFL Sportswatch and how do you like it? I currently have an Ironman, but it's too easy to accidently reset the time on it. I think I'm going to get another watch and want to find one that's really good for officiating.

Thanks,

RazorRef

I use it but I guess they are no longer selling it. There is an officials supply store that sells the exact same watch, without the NFL logo on it. It's cheaper too.

What I would like to have is a watch that you can program two different count down timers. I think there is a few out there that can do it. I would like to have a 60 and 25 second count down. The Ready Ref is nice but I don't want to spend that kind of money on it.

Anybody looked into the whistle watch that I've seen advertised on the back of Referee mag?

I have the watch but only use it for on field clock if needed, it works great and highly recommend it for that reason only.

As for the BJ timing, you have to put out the money for a ref-ready, this will complete your officiating gear. It works great and even if you don't run BJ it really helps your crew, make sure your crew has it.

I use a Casio G-Shock. The buttons are shrouded so they cannot get bumped. It has a count down timer I use for the 25 sec and I use the stopwatch for time outs.

I've got the NFL logo watch (Officially called "The Official 125") made by Sportline.

My knock against it is that the start/stop button is this small button on the side, and I really prefer a large button on the front (which on this watch is the never-used light). If I'm counting players, signalling, or just plain watching playing action, I don't want to have to feel around for a small button on the side of a watch.

My other complaint is that when the watch was brand new (I think I had used it once), another official in a H.S. game with me (who had the clock duties in this game) forgot his watch and I lent this watch to him since I had no timing duties. He gave it back to me in pieces (the pins bent that hold the watch to the wristband), and even though the watch comes with an extra couple of pins, I've never been able to get the pins to reliably stay in. They pop out almost every game, leaving me to carry the watch in my palm or putting it away. I've always got a backup watch on the field with me, but have found myself making this watch my backup since I can't trust it.
