Alabama ejections will result in fines
http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp...1&nav=menu33_5
High school coaches and players who get themselves ejected from high school athletic contests will now have to pay a price. The Alabama High School Athletic Association has a new conduct rule that imposes the following penalties. The first ejection will result in a minimum fine of $300. The second ejection will result in a minimum one-game suspension and $500 fine. The third ejection will result in a minimum suspension for the remainder of the season and a $750 fine. According to the AHSAA, "if an ejection occurs during the final contest of the season, a monetary fine will be placed on the school according to its severity and what number ejection it is." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In Georgia, I have only seen two games with ejections, and the ejectee was suspended from the next game both times. The first time the player was ejected after the first play from scrimmage, and still had to sit out the next game. I thought the rule was the same in Alabama, but apparently it isn't. What is the rule in other states? |
