The NFL officials still don't have a contract, and will
definitely not start the regular season without one. They
could also sit out the preseason which is less than 2 weeks
away.

I will check it out as our meetings will start soon. Here in So. Calif. we have several NFL officials around that will be at our meetings. I will try to keep you posted....

Those are not the guys that you are going to want to ask.
I'm referring to the NFL office soliciting scabs from the
collegiate ranks.

I checked around and know the officials are in clinics. No word from any sports radio or from the NFL on it.......

Accordingly to the US Today newspaper, the officials are ready to walk out. The commisioner, Paul Tagliabue is threatening to begin soliciting replacements to counter strike or lock-out. Likely replacements would come from Arena football leagues, small colleges, or high schools. Rookies now make $2152, vets over 14 years to $4330. Pensions is $150 times years in service with a cap of 22 years...........Has anyone turn in their assignments yet?

August 14 the onslaught began. I have received e-mails and phone calls from NFL referees, and 2 Federal Express packages from the NFL League Offices.
