I can understand banning "hideout" plays, but I've never seen the real value, other than to a defense that easily falls asleep, in banning these sorts of plays. There's nothing inherently unfair about it.

Heck, if you had asked me when I was playing defense who I'd rather chase down and tackle, a guard would probably be at the top of my list.

"Tackle eligible play"?? I didn't know NF had that one. I guess I will have to be alert for that play.

When it was banned in college it was said on TV that it was too difficult for the officials to officiate it. Don't know if that's true...can honestly say I've never seen one, but I don't know if that is the NF's reason for eliminating it.
