Does anyone know of some good camps down in the South particularly around baton rouge that are more training than evaluation. It seems there are a lot more basketball camps than football camps, but any information would be appreciated.

Can't help you out with a camp but the reason there are more basketball camps is its easier to get basketball teams together.

I highly recommend the camp in Indianapolis. Go to Honigs, click camps, send email to the folks listed. I know this may be too far, but it will be well worth your money. It is a high school camp, inside the colts complex.

The Cougar Clinic in Houston is a good clinic. The website is http://www.cougarclinic.com.

Make the Call clinic
There is a camp over in Nacogdoches (sp?), TX, the first week of March, the 3rd and 4th. It is reasonably priced and from what I've heard, it is a good experience. Email me and I can send you a copy of the flier.

Hey grant is that the only dates for that camp in TX, I want to go, but will be out of town that weekend, and am wondering if it will be held again maybe in the summer.

The on-field camps in Texas are all tied to college scrimmages. Make the Call is with Stephen F. Austin, the Cougar is with Rice and Univerisity of Houston, there is one put on with Blinn Junior College, and I believe that Top of Texas in Amarillo is with West Texas A&M. All this to say that no, there won't be summer dates because the colleges won't be scrimmaging. The summer clinics are classroom with the exception of the Reno & Fresno camps.

Sleeper is right, no summer dates for camps in TX. There is a camp in the Chicago area this summer. Classroom based though. I've heard good things about it. But that might be a little far for you to travel.
For other camps check http://www.honigs.com/browse_products.asp?Cat=2&Sub=60 |
We have a classroom clinic in Fort Worth that is well attended. It is on July 1 this year. The website is http://www.fortworthclinic.net
