Holy smokes. The NFHS got REAL annoyed by the behaviors of some individuals who I guess inappropriately rant! I went to the forum today and here's the message they posted...

<i>The goal of the NFHS Forum was to allow an opportunity for coaches and officials to discuss items related to high school competition. Unfortunately many have chosen to abuse the forum and many of it's participants. Despite the warnings, the poor behavior by the few will now affect the many. Due to the increased number of people choosing to attack others verbally, the NFHS Forum is currently closed. At this time the NFHS is evaluating it's future plans for the forum.</i>

I like the level of participation on this forum (it's much more widely used) but both are great sources of information. This is unfortunate!

REPLY: The real shame is that in the recent past, it's been really civil. I'll admit a few months ago it was kind of tense. But everyone seems to have calmed down. I'm curious as to whether the alleged "abuse" is the real reason for the shutdown.

I inquired and received an email that they are looking to possibly re-opening it with more moderators who will be on the look out for inappropriate posts and posters.

Basically, they've received a lot of complaints on a project they initially thought would require very little moderating.

Let's hope they get it worked out.

It's back!! Hopefully their shot across the bow is taken to heart and all can be civil.
