Gary Slaughter, NFL HL, broke his leg in the Eagles/Rams game Sunday. If you'd like to read a little more (a very little more), there are a couple of short articles in this thread below.

He got leg whipped as the Philadelphia player was being tackled for a loss. He tried to get out of the way but just barely got caught just below the knee.
I saw one other official get hurt in a Philadelphia game earlier this season. The umpire to Reid he was using him as a pick. After that I have been paying attention to the umpires and it seems none of them are stepping up to the line on passes. Is this a mechanic that is different than NFHS or NCAA?

I saw this play happen. He got back up and I thought he'd probably walk it off. A minute or so later they said they were switching mechanics as he could not continue.
