I have begun studying NCAA rules and come across one that I would like clarification on. For kicks into the end, be it free or scrimmage. It states that the kick is dead one it hit the ground in the end zone. Is hitting the ground in NCAA to similar to breaking the plane in NF, whereas, one it hits the ground, neither K nor R can not anything with the ball and the play is blow dead right away?

If it was touched by Team B prior to hitting the ground in the end zone it is still live. If it is untouched by B then it will be dead as soon as hit hits the ground.

Thanks, wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly prior to getting on the field.

Also keep in mind (mainly on a scrimmage kick is where you'd see it) that the ball is not dead when it crosses the goal line in the air, but it also cannot be batted (in any direction) in the end zone.

So basically, that punt that bounces on the 3-yard line into the air, crossing the goal line, and is batted backward and recovered by a member of the kicking team on the 1 is a touchback, not downed at the 1.

But, don't blow the whistle. Just drop a bean bag in the end zone and let the ball become dead by rule.

Rule 6-3-11 covers this case.
So yes, team-B will take over at the 20 since team-A downed the kick at the one after committing a touching violation over the EZ.
