Need another ruling thanks guys.

With 1st and 10 at the A 10 yd. line, A1 drops back into the end zone to pass. He’s under a furious rush when B7 inadvertently grabs his facemask and quickly lets go. A1 then scrambles and (a) is tackled in the end zone for an apparent safety, or (b) fumbles the ball and it goes out of bounds behind the goal line, or (c) manages to run to the 2 yd. line where he is sacked. How is the 5 yd. facemask penalty enforced?

In (a) and (b) the 5 yard penalty is enforced from the goal line. 1-15 from the 5. In (c) it is enforced from the 2. 1-13 from the 7.

Yep, I screwed up (b). That is a loose-ball play and a previous spot enforcement.

Same play with another twist...

With 1st and 10 at the A 10 yd. line, A1 drops back into the end zone to pass. He’s under a furious rush when B7 inadvertently grabs his facemask and quickly lets go. A1 then scrambles and (a)throws an incomplete pass. (b) throws a complete pass to A88 at the A35 where he is then tackled. (c) throws a complete pass to A88 which he runs for a touchdown. What are A's options and enforcement spots?

Now we have loose-ball plays and the enforcement would be from the previous spot. However, in (c) they can take the result of the play (TD) and have it enforced on the try per 8-2-2. Try from the 1 1/2.

If accepted, 1st and 5 from the 15 in (a) and (b).

I agree with Andrew however in the second situation, Team A will undoubtedly decline the penalty and take the result of the play. 1st and 10 at B's 35 yard line.

I agree with him both on the run and pass plays.

Orginal question.

In b if he fumbles the foul is enforced from previous spot.

That's what I was thinking Andy. A loose ball play includes runs that preceded the loose ball, which would apply in sit. B as I read it.
