Play situation.
I saw this play on film. 3rd and goal from the five. Play starts, sweep to the right. in midplay a whistle sounds. All players (including the runner) on the left side stop for sewveral seconds. The running back then runs into the endzone for a score. Crew meets and determines that none of them had a whistle. What if anything do we do. More than likely it was a band director who blew his whistle by mistake. If your answer is to do nothing, what is to prevent the disgruntled losing coach in this situation from planting a whistle with a friend in the stadium to be used at an advantageous time. |

NCAA - Nothing unless one of the crew admits the toot. I guess someone could bite the bullet and take one for the team and admit to the IW thus invoking IW provisions.
As for stopping the "disgruntled coach", if he is that unethical then there are problems way beyond this forum. And remember, what you are suggesting requires 2 people and anytime 2 people are involved in a crime, there is a chance one will spill the beans on the other. |
