Are there any charitable wristbands (i.e. the camo bands for the troops) that are permissable for players to wear.

Same question for officials. I have two I normally wear (a liveSTRONG and for U of Michigan's children's hospital MGoBlueforMOTT's) that are both solid colors (if that matters at all). Would I be able to wear those or not. If it makes a differnce from state-to-state, I am a Michigan official.

Not permitted in Texas for players or refs

Not under Federation rules. Those little plastic bands are considered jewelry.
If they absolutely have to have them wear them taped to the body under the uniform, or in their jock.. they're washable.
Told that one to a kid that told me he promised his girlfriend that he'd always wear the chain and heart she gave him. I told him to put it in his jock becuase "how much closer to you can it get". He looked a second, broke into a big grin and said "YEAH!"

The LIVESTRONG bands and those like them are illegal. As an official, you shouldn't wear anything that is illegal for players to wear. Lead by example.

Gotta be careful, just in case.

watch and wedding band are the only jewelry I wear. Our association flat out said we will not wear the bands.

Here in PA we are permitted to wear a wedding band and a watch for timing purposes...that's it (and a medic-alert bracelet, but I do not consider that jewelry).

I do not think Tony was commenting on wedding bands. He was commenting on things that would be completely illegal like braclets, necklaces, earrings and these "charity bands." I know of no place that weeding bands on officials are illegal.

Peace

A high level official here in the Ontario basketball community once said that referees must take their wedding band off.

I nearly pissed myself laughing. I don't think I'd ever heard of anything so stupid in my life.

Some of the guys have their rings on so tight, they'd need medical help to get it off.

Make sure you leave your penile piercing in as well.

Nobody said anything about wedding bands. I'm speaking of items that players would wear. Duh! Personally, I've never seen a HS player that was married, although I guess anything is possible.

OK, then what about an official wearing an ankle monitor, awaiting trial on a pending aggravated burglary charge?

Here, he wouldn't be assigned a game. He would be suspended until he was found not guilty or until he was released when fould guilty.

I hope it works out for you.
