Can you have encroachment by the offense? If after the center adjusts the ball and the interior linemen go down in their 3-point stance, one of the lineman lines up in the netural zone. Is this encroachment or what would you call it? A few of us are in disagreement over this.

Absolutely, it's encroachment when any player lines up in the NZ after the ready and after the snapper places a hand(s) on the ball.

It is encroachment. However, I saw this in a game last season, an extremely tall lineman goes into his three-point stance and finds his arms in the neutral zone. The question. Did he mena to do it? Does he gain an advantage?

My answers were no and no. Just warn the player and the coach and go on with the game

Once warned it never happened again.

In regards to encroachment restrictions.

Team A has no restrictions after the ready. it is after the snapper touches the ball that they may not be in the neutral zone.

For team B the may not be in the neutral zone either after the ready or after the snapper touches the ball
