It's bad enough on the white hat (there wouldn't be a Super Bowl logo on the side, obviously - I hate anything on the side of a hat), but combined with the stripes on the black hats, it looks ridiculous.

That said, I used to have an all-black cap with an NFL shield on it, and I quite liked it.

REPLY: The ECAC has a red and blue logo on the outside of the sweat brim of the hat just behind the right ear. Doesn't look too bad, but you really can't tell what it is unless you're very close to it.

I concur about all the logos.
US flag and "association" patch on
the shirt should be all.
Wonder if the FHSAA saw that and is
thinking of the money thay could make
having us put logos on our hats ??

Hats were brutal. I wonder whose brainchild that was.
The forecast called for an eight degree drop in two hours following sunset. Probably a wise idea to put on the sleeves.

For the hats--I don't really understand why the patches did not show up in regular season, but 'magically' appeared in the Super Bowl. And, I agree, the patches definitely need to go.

As for the long sleeves, a couple of years ago when the SB was in San Diego (when Den. beat GB) the officials wore long sleeves. Go figure.

So now we're down to, what, 50? And you're running around? Not exactly the Ice Bowl.

Maybe it's just me, but it'd take a lot more than that to break out the longs.

I'll tell ya what. I have no idea what the TV people said about the temperature. But I had a jacket on and froze my little butt off. But I'll note that I was standing there vs. running around. But seriously I was putting blankets on people sitting in wheelchairs and people were buying up blankets up in the stadium merchandise areas. Ed Hochuli put on a long-sleeve black jacket on TOP of his full uniform and walked the sidelines after the coin toss.

I had just a shirt on while the sun was out and when it went in it seemed like at least a 20-degree drop in windchill. The wind was whipping through the corner of the stadium where I was standing. The streamers on the goal posts weren't moving all that much which surprised me. But it was a little colder than people thought.

I believe all alternates are to wear the black jacket you described.

Bump because I was looking at some old USFL tapes and saw that in at least one season, USFL officials had the league logo on their (white for everybody) caps.

Since the league played in the spring and summer, they got to wear shorts a lot, too. And in the pre-Jordan days, they were pretty short.

Kinda scary.
