I agree with all of MJT's ruling except #4. It's an invalid fair catch (vs. illegal) as a runner didn't give the signal. The other disagreement I have is the penalty is 5, not 15. And it's always 5 whether it's illegal or invalid FC.

I changed illegal to invalid in a later post, mispoke their.
Edited further writing to cover my rushed stupidity!

REPLY: MJT, yes...blocking after giving a valid or invalid signal is 15 yards but...

<i><b>"ART. 7…</b> A receiver shall not give an invalid fair catch signal.
<b>ART. 8...</b> The runner shall not give an illegal fair catch signal
<b>PENALTY: Blocking after giving a valid or invalid signal (Art. 1)--(S40)-15 yards; delay of game (Art. 5)--(S21)--5 yards; kick catching interference (Art. 6)--(S33)--15 yards. For interference R may accept a 15-yard penalty from the previous spot and a replay of the down or choose to accept the penalty of an awarded fair catch at the spot of the foul. <u>Invalid or illegal fair catch signal (Arts. 7, 8)--(S32)--5 yards.</u></b>" </i>

Look at #8 in the Penalty Summary under the "5 yard" fouls.

Thanks Bob, I was reading #3 in "loss of 15 yards as "illegal block after valid or invalid signal" wrong, thinking the illegal signal was standing alone. I knew that one even, but my reading brain got in the way of thinking brain when in a hurry. Thanks!
