You didn't go to Lake County Jr. High did you. Your description of your Jr. High field matched mine to a tee and you stating you where from West TN definitely confirmed it.

Just thought about it, are you Wes Todd?

That would be correct -- some great memories from that little field in Ridgely.

How has your season gone in Northwest Association?

Hi, Wes,

I am not working any HS this year, Franklin is a Senior and I took 3 years off to watch him. However, I am working sub-varsity during the week and come college on weekends.

Have you signed up to officiate or just hanging around the board to learn?

This is my third year with the Knoxville association; after tonight, I will have had three varsity games this year (on-field) and two clock games. I've also had a lot of JV/Middle School/Rec League and I'm doing intramurals over here at UT. And along with that, I'm the assistant sports editor at the Daily Beacon. So I'm keeping pretty busy between officiating and covering the Vols.

I don't know yet if I'll have any playoff games, but I should at least get a clock game or two (if not, I'll hold chains).

I've been following West TN football; hate to hear that Peabody is having a rough season for Franklin's senior year (the win over Milan aside). I made it to the LC-Bruceton game over fall break and the Falcons look as good as they have since the Jewel Flowers days (although maybe not quite THAT good yet).

I'm running back judge for TSD-NCSD tonight, so that should be an experience.

Have a great game.

I thought TSD was in Nashville? Oh well.

Nope, very much in Knoxville. Pretty lousy game, too -- NCSD won 54-18. Plus we got soaked. Used a running clock in the second half and got out of there by 8:30 (7:00 kickoff). I ended up working umpire after the referee took a look at me and determined that I most definitely wasn't a back judge.

Heading out for South Carolina here in a few minutes, hope we can bring home a win.
