On two occassions this year I have been asked by coaches about headphones on the field. They said that they were prevented from having them on if they went onto the field during a timeout. Doesn't 1-6-2 allow coaches to do this? Are officials confused because the casebook only gives examples of coaches talking to the kids at the sidelines? Or, am I wrong yet again?

They can take them onto the field and use them to talk to the box but the players are not allowed to use them.
