Cold weather gear, in Canada, consists of under-armour, a thick cotton t-shirt (sometimes two), a turtleneck, and long-sleeved stripes; long johns (sometimes two pair), and knickers. 3 pairs of socks... white ones over thick pair, over dry-dit socks. A balaclava, and gloves.

Well, no snow last night, but rain the entire game. Wind picked up near the end of the 4th. Temp wasn't too bad, about 38. I was just happy that my knickers and socks came out clean.......

But my 7 year old son's flag FB game this a.m. was a different story. Wind, rain/almost snow and the strange urge to go on the field and help "coach" those little ones on what to do. Its weird sitting on the sidelines now. I don't know how those coaches can handle 11 kids with the attention span of a gnat.

Mike, I'm trying to figure out how the hell you get all that under your uniform?? :D

When it's cold, I too break out the layers. Turtleneck, long johns ect. Only 1 pair of socks though ;)

And that's in JULY! ;)

Beware turtlenecks in the rain. The neck gets wet and wicks the water down the shirt. You end up getting colder because of being wet.

My uniform consists of underarmour for warmth, Hongis Windstopper liner for wetness covered by a long sleeve shirt and lined windstopper pants.

The biggest problem is shoes and socks. They get wet no matter what you do.

I've already had a month and a half of skiing.

Remember that blackout last August (2003)? It was caused by all the electricity required for the ski lifts, etc... in southern Ontario.
