REPLY: Since R's invalid signal guarantees him no protection, your judgment is (a) was the hit sufficiently late that K should have known the ball was dead, or (b) was it a personal foul in and of itself (helmet contact, etc.) Even a 'hard' tackle right after R recovers the kick is probably not sufficient to warrant any flag...except for the invalid signal of course.
