Situation that occured last week:
I was officiating a varsity contest between two rivals. I noticed about midway through the second quarter one of the players had on a pair of contacts that, had he been hit and knocked unconscious, would have prevented anyone from seeing his pupils/eyes. I know that players are not allowed to wear shields for this very reason and I have been unsuccessul in finding it in the rule or case book. Any and all help would be appreciated. |

He must have looked like Marilyn Manson or Fossilman from Texas Hold 'em. I would look at 1-5-3: Illegal equipment which applies to any equipment which in the opinion of the umpire is dangerous, confusing or inappropriate. Are these equipment because it sounds like they are confusing and or inappropriate.

I have raised this very question for 4 years now and people still say they are legal. I have submitted for 3 years to make them illegal.
