I believe (beyond the shadow of a doubt) the answer key to be incorrect for questions 1 and 82. While the rule reference in both cases is correct the ruling is incorrect.
I believe the correct answer to number 1 is False, and,
I beleive the correct answer to number 82 is False.
In both cases the answer key says the answer key is true.
Has anyone else ran across this or heard anything from the NFHS???

#1. 1.5.4 "Prior to the start of the game the head coach shall be resposible for verifying to the referee AND UMPIRE that all his players are equipped in compliance with these rules....."
The question is, without a doubt a false statement, even with the FED test question twisted logic.

#82 False: 8.5.3 .... "It is a touchback when:
d. A forward pass is intercepted in B's end zone and becomes dead in there in B's possession."

And the questions are...

The questions are as follows:

1) Prior to the game, the head coach shall be responsible for verifying to the referee only, that all of his team's players are equipped in compliance with the rules.
Rule Reference is: 1-5-4
Answer key indicates the answer is: TRUE
Correct answer is: FALSE
1-5-4 clearly states: Prior to the game, the head coach shall be responsible for verifying to the referee and umpire that all of his players are equipped in compliance with the rules.

82) If B1 intercepts A's forward pass in B's end zone, it is a safety if he is tackled there.
Rule Reference is: 8-5-3d
Answer key indicates the answer is: TRUE
Correct answer is: FALSE
8-5-3...It is a touchback when:
d) A forward pass is intercepted in B's endzone and becomes dead there in B's possession.

Answers?

Have you guys already seen the answers?
We haven't gotten ours back yet --- and I'm guessing it'll be a couple more weeks.
On the two in question -- our State throws out any that are confusing or could be taken two ways -- so they may do that on these.

I agree with your answers - however, the key that our association also agrees that the answer is FALSE for both questions.

I'm not sure, exactly, what you are trying to say.
Can you please reword it?

I think his statement makes a lot more sense if you remove the word "however".

Sorry - trying to be too precise. In plainer language: Our key had it right (False for both).
