Up here in Canada we still wear a stirrup over our white sock.

I just wear normal white socks under it, they are super easy to clean.

Try OxyClean, that stuff takes the mud out of my white socks.

Oxiclean is great. I've found that if you soak your socks in water overnight after a game, most of the stains come out. Someone on one of the forums said that a crew member of his would soak his entire uniform in the shower after the game and put in in a platic bag until he got home. He'd then throw it in the wash.

I worked a nasty mud bowl last Thanksgiving weekend. It rained sideways for the entire time with 20+ mile winds. The entire field was shoe-sucking mud goalline to goalline, hash-to-hash. As nasty as I have ever seen it.

I was covered in mud...knickers, socks, shirt, shoes, etc.

I applied a liberal amount of shout to everything then soaked in very hot water the entire night. Then I ran everything through the washer twice the next morning. The result was NOT 1 single stain.

I have also heard of the suggestion mikesears suggests which is similar. The trick is DON'T LET THEM DRY while that dirty and you should be OK.

stirup socks

I was just cleaning out my gear and ran across like 4 pairs of stirups. If you really do wear these, e-mail me and I'll will them to your unit.
