Two opposing players are attempting to recover a loose ball. There is a great deal of pushing and shoving by one or both players in the attempt.

Is there a foul in either of these situations?

Thanks

As long as there is no illegal use of hands or holding, two players can battle for a loose ball.

I know that as long as you do not block below the waist, a push in the back above the waist is allowed.

Could you site illegal use of hands examples?

Thanks

im still a little new to football, but wouldnt this be considered an illieagal block in the back if the contact was iniated from the spot you described

Ref5678: take another look at 9-3-5 specifically exception-b. That will answer your question.

Canadian Ruling

Here in the GWN, there is a foul called Interference on a Loose Ball. If you directly interfere with a player making an attempt to recover a loose ball, the penalty is loss of ball at the point of foul (LB at PF).

Two players doing it against each other while going for the ball... I can't see throwing a flag.
