Where can I order some?

There placards just like the letters you wear on the back of your shirts

http://www.honigs-canada.com has them.

About $10 Canadian.

Yes I definitely misread, thought that said letters.

http://www.honigs.com has them, you just have to look under lacross. Its $8-10, and it has white numbers on a black placket.

The Canadian number is black number on a white placket.

Call them up and ask, they'll surely answer your question if its a big deal.

Ref18, I imagine you had to pay more because of an extra digit lol. :)

ref18 Thu Jul 22, 2004 02:41pm

i'm just glad they didn't let me get 182 ;) that would've cost even more than 18

If you're wondering this for cleaning purposes, the numbers are a pain in the a$$ to clean. I have one that's got a few mud stains on it that the washing machine wouldn't get out. If you're worried about getting it dirty, get 2, one for bad weather days, and the other one for when the weather's good.

Not living in Canada? Why would anyone do that?

We have hockey, 110 yard fields, alcoholic beer and (ahem) health care. And it's cold! And there's only one way to stay warm when it's cold here in Canada.....

Placard placement

Anyone know of an official diagram showing exactly where to put the placards?

Do a Google search because I sure someone has that information out there. But that style to me looks tacky. Just by the shirt with the one that with the proper letter IMO. It is a tax write-off in the end anyway. All the shirts have sublimation on the shirts and that looks much better.

Peace

Aren't all those directly printed onto the subliminated shirt now? This thread is originally 15 years old- a lot has changed with the shirts since then.

Yes, they are and yes it has. But there are people that still try to find the way around buying multiple shirts and multiple officiating gear.

Dr Google was no help. Agree placards look tacky. They have started switching us around position wise and crew wise as well as going from 4 man to 5 man and 7 man mechanics. Have had my U shirt for 30 years and have changed to keep up with rule and association changes but, I'm not gonna buy six different shirts this late in my career...:)

HLin NC Sat Aug 17, 2019 08:29am

Could you not just look at a photo of the/a shirt from one of the suppliers?

But they changed the shirt since you had a shirt. I think we have had the wider striped shirt for about 8 or 9 years now. So you would have to update the shirt anyway. I would not buy multiple shirts of positions you are not working, but would you not know this ahead of time? For example, I am a deep wing, it is very rare that I would work any other position but one of the three deep positions. Not to say that you may not ever have a surprise assignment, but then ask a partner or someone you know can you borrow their shirt. But honestly, the shirts are not even made in most cases made to put something on them without looking very shanky.

Peace
