Does anyone have a good game card? I have made my own a few times and taken them to Kinkos and come out cheaper and usually have more of the info I need. I know some cards will be specific to your position, but I usually stay general, since I work all positions.

Mike Simonds Fri Jun 25, 2004 01:58pm

Try Honig's.

Honig's started selling a new card last year.

http://www.honigs.com

It's a paper bi-fold that fits nicely in their little plastic card holders (the ones that have the signals printed on the inside and 2 pockets for your card and pencil).

I heard that some guys will take this card and reproduce them at Kinko's but I'm not sure about the legality of that...

Mike Simonds Fri Jun 25, 2004 02:00pm

A few guys I know make their own.

One referee I work with makes his own. He likes to make the lettering bigger because the ones you get from the vendors are too hard to read (or so he claims)!

michaelpr Fri Jun 25, 2004 02:05pm

as an official i never get caught saying that my vision is going.

Is it any wonder Coaches question our calls? We don't need bigger lettering, we need thicker glasses (and skins).

I make my own and print them on card stock. Never saw a store-bought card that had everything I wanted in the right place.

At the Honig's here in Canada, there is a sign that you see as you leave the store. It says at the top, "Referee Eye Exam".

Underneath that, in a font about 200 point in size, is the letter E.

At the bottom of the page, regularily sized, says "if you can read the letter E, you can be a referee."

I must've missed that sign, but I'm not sure how ;)

jumping on that wagon

I sense that wagon full of officials asking for your card is getting mighty heavy. Can I slide on this wagon as well and lug my butt on to add to this massive weight?

That axle is straining heavily and should snap any time.

Thank you in advance for your help with the cards.

Email is: [email protected]

Moderators HELP!

here is an idea - we have 3 pages of requests for this card, myself included.

Why not post it on the other side under the free stuff, similar to Papa C's free stuff and then post a hyperlink to that location. It may even generate a few new members.

Snake~eyes Thu Aug 05, 2004 01:09pm

If you give me permission I will host the file and post the link here.
