I am a relitively new football offical i have one season of officating under my belt. It went pretty well. Youth football will be starting in my area coming up in a few months and was wondering if their was anywhere on line i could find some old test or study aides particuraly on penelty enforcement, as that i have white hatted every game ive done. I know them but a good refresher never hurt anybody, but besides studying the rule book and casebook (Which i have done)does anyone have any matireal i could use

Try ARS.

Try Athletic Rules Study: Get the 2003 high school football rules CD. The 2004 CD will be ready around July. They have the last 5 years of NFHS tests, that you can answer true or false and then get the result right there, with the complete rules, case and illustrated books cross-referenced.

Its well worth the 30 clams they charge for it.

Go to the following website:

http://www.rules-study.com

or type Athletic Rules Study in your Google or search engine.

You WILL go to this site and buy the book!

I work NCAA rules, and the Referee's Study Guide they make for NCAA rules is excellent. But they also have one for NFHS, and if it is as good as the NCAA version, then it's a must buy.

Don't know how updated the above website is, but you can also get it from here:

i have the federation version of the study guide. it is very good, however there is one better. it is the Football Officials Guidebook by Jeffery Stern, George Demetriou, and Jerry Grunska. The ISBN is 1582080275 and it is on amazon for about $26. this book is very indepth. it is a big help on explaining keys to new guys. it even tells what order you should take your showers in.

It's worth purchasing both guidebooks. However, I think REF5678 was looking for more on rules and rule enforcement than on mechanics.
In that case the Referees Study Guide for NFHS is what he should get first.
