I am preparing every day this Spring for Football 04!
Anyway,I was on a crew for a Sub-Varsity game last year when the R asked for the game Balls before the Coin Toss.
Team B game us a ball that was very low on air and almost FLAT! They had a pump without: you got it,a needle!
The field is a hike from the school and of course A
was needless also.
We used one ball and started the game!
I learned a valuable lesson that game: carry a ball needle!
I seen air pressure guages in catalogs but I am curious as
to what you guys/girls carry for this situation.
Has anyone seen a guage that is also a pencil!
I am also looking for stories relative to flat balls.
I believe some coaches want a flat ball for different
play situations.
Thanks for any information in this area.
God Bless,
Coach "Fuzzy" Faust

Every crew should carry a kit.

Its a good idea to add a pump and needle to your game bag. The league supplies the balls but most of the time the new balls are under-inflated.

I also carry a small pressure gauge.

I got mine from the sporting goods store and I believe the whole kit (small hand pump, needles, and pressure gauge) only cost between $10 to $15.

Here is one you can carry in your pant pocket if need be. Just remember to remove the needle first.

Check bike stores in looking for very small pumps. I'm pretty sure they are threaded for a needle. Even if not, there is always a work around.
