Whichever backline guy threw the OPI on NE's last drive - you have brass ones, my friend! Nice.

A VERY classy coin toss Ed!

I think OPI was called by FJ Tom Sifferman #118. One of the gutsiest calls ever.

Tom is a regular on Ed's crew. I think it says alot about the (original) crew (of 7) when they were ranked #1 and 4 of them were not eligible for the Superbowl. Do a story on that, ESPN.

I thought the officiating was excellent.

As a patriots fan, i wasn't too sure about the OPI, but i think he made the right call.

What about those commercials. I almost pissed myself when i saw the Budwieser one with the side judge being screamed at by the coach over a bad call, and the SJ is just standing there tuning him out, and then you see him at home, and his wife is screaming at him. Absolutely hilarious. Some other good ones:

-The two old people fighting over the bag of lays.
-The one where the guy takes the girl for a ride in the horse drawn carriage, and the horse farts in front of the candle, and the girl gets her face burnt off.
-The one where the guys are comparing what tricks their dogs can do.

All of the Bud ones were hilarious.

super bowl ads

Was it just me or did the commercials seem especially low brow this year? The first two bud light ads involved crotch jokes (dog and bikini wax) and the next one involves lighting a horse's fart on fire. The donkey clydesdale ad was great and the simpsons ad was amusing. But two different viagra knockoffs, one shilled by Mike Ditka? Give me a break.

I would classify the best of the bunch as 'mildly amusing' or even quaint. The best ones had monkeys. The wing guy being screamed at by his wife was nice.

It was not just you. It almost seemed like they were competing to see who could get closest to the gutter without falling in. All today we hear about the outrage the NFL has towards what happened at halftime but what about the sponsors?!?!?!!? Maybe the NFL does not want to irk them but they obviously need some guidance. Maybe Mr T does not want to antagonize them.

I thought the cocacola bear commercial was pretty funny. I also liked the official getting screamed at, I guess its especially funny cause we all can relate to it! The one car one was also funny where the guys got in the little car and they were all small. Overall I thought the commercials were good. Not excellent but good.
