Staying Dry in the Rain

I think in rain your pretty much s.o.l. unless you use the plastic bag. But, having used the plastic bag idea myself, my feet sweated so bad that I might as well just gone without. The same might be for multi-layered socks. I think I would go with the multi-socks if you were in in snow. I'm not much help, has anyone out there discovered any good secrets to this? I'd like to hear them too....
