I don't know if any of you guys (gals) have seen this or not but I just read about it and I think it's a terrible idea.

You'll know what I mean when you read it.

Check out the story... (WOW!)

Does Georgia play with NF or NCAA rules? My next question is this, Is the description of the play exactly what happened? The play is a live ball personal foul during a running play, if it is federation rules, it should be added to the end of the run (what am I missing here). The Georgia state ruling is bad and the precedent is absolutely awful.

Can not believe it. So, now the precedent has been made. HOw many other games coul dhave been reversed based upon this, and how many more will be???? Ga has just opened up the wrong box.

If anyone heres the outcome of the game, I would be interested.

My mistake after re reading the article the penalty was on the offense, not the defense. The precedent is still absolutely awful.

Who is going to officiate this replay..? If I was on that crew, you could bet your behind that I wouldn't come back for it... And if I'm part of that association, I'm doing everything I can to make sure no one else shows up either...

But since the board is so concerned about rules, here's 1-1-6...
The referee has authority to rule promptly, and in the spirit of good sportsmanship, on any situation not specifically covered in the rules. The referee's decisions are final in all matters pertaining to the game.

Even if he booted the call, there's no provisions for the GHSA board to overrule him...

REPLY: I asked this question on the "other" board...I might as well ask it here as well: When the story relates that the Dacula coach protested the call at the time, I wonder whether he did so by calling a coach-referee conference which could have given the white hat pause to reconsider and possibly avoid this mess, or did he just stand on the sideline screaming. Your guess??

Reading on a Georgia High School Football message board, it sounds like protests are allowed in Georgia, and the proper procedure was followed. The officials were informed at the time of the call that the game was being played under protest and yet they still didn't change their ruling.

The fact that a state association even ACCEPTS protests in football is unreal. Mistakes are going to be made regardless of who is officiating the game.

Who decides whether it's a live ball or dead ball PF anyway? The referee or the GHSA?

Why the coach does Rich.

FED 9.4.2.l ILLEGAL PERSONAL CONTACT
Referee correct. Coach and GA wrong.

I agree that no official should accept working that game replay.
