Penn State Iowa Football Goal Line Extended

For those who saw this game a viewed the goal line extended play a subsequent review, I don’t understand how this was a touchdown.
Could someone please explain the interpretation which allowed the goal to stand?-

Well i didn't watch the game so I went looking. I found several articles on a disallowed touchdown but none on what you are describing. Do you have a video?

I see the player dive for the pylon with the ball in the right hand. Now there is no replay so it is hard to know if the pylon was touched by the ball, but I would suspect that play was reviewed. Looks good based on what you showed us.

Peace

I watched it real time and the 5 replays. Ball was in left hand and he hit pylon with right hand. The consulting official employed by Fox said it wasn’t a goal before the ruling came down from replay booth

I can only go by the angle you showed. Don't know if it was correct or not. You cannot see a close up and know what happened other than it appears the officials did all the other mechanics to get this play right.

Peace
