Simple question: Can you call "Targeting" and NOT have a ejection by NFHS standards?

Short answer is "YES", However you might review the following rules to help understand;

9-4-3m (Illegal Personal Contact). PENALTY described as 15 yards (S:38,24). PENALTY includes, "Disqualification also if any fouls under these articles ARE JUDGED BY THE GAME OFFICIAL TO BE FLAGRANT -(S-47).

2-20-2 (Helmet Contact - Illegal, Targeting)

2-16-2c (Fouls & Penalties)

A "Judgment" made by the calling game official determines if the specific action merits "Disqualification", or not.
