On-Side Kickoff Rules for Receiving Team

High School Football, North Carolina; Is there any rule that prohibits the receiving team on an on-inside kick that prohibits the receiving team from sending players across the 50 yard line to block the kickoff team players as they chase the on-side kick as it is rolling toward the 50 yard line.
I am about to face a team that utilizes the kicker to roll the ball straight ahead and he and 4 other defenders (tightly grouped with the kicker) chase the ball and try to recover it just as it crosses the 10 yard rule at the 50 yard line. They come in extremely hard and delivers shots at the receiving player.

R can block anytime during a free kick. If R blocks, that gives K full right to block or make contact with anyone other than the receiver of the kick when the ball is in the air. The kicking team just cannot touch the ball before 10 yards as well as some other rules.

Peace

I saw something similar to this a week ago in a Fed game here in my state where members of K smoked R's players on this very kind of play and contact was ruled BSB.

NFHS: 6-1-6 advises, " Any K player may recover the ball before it goes beyond R's free-kick line if it is touched by any receiver.

NFHS: 6-1-7 advises, "if any K player touches a free-kick before it crosses R's free-kick line and before it is touched by any R player, it is referred to as "First Touching of the Kick"

K is restricted, not R.

9-3-ART. 8 . . . No member of the kicking team shall initiate contact to (block) an opponent on a free kick until:

a. The legal kick has traveled 10 yards;

b. The kicking team is eligible to recover a free-kicked ball; or

c. The receiving team initiates a block within the neutral zone.
