Clock

Team B is deep in their own territory with 15 sec. left in the 2nd quarters th no time outs. B7 runs the ball and is brought down inbounds by A11 face mask foul. Play end with 2 sec. left. After the penalty for A's face mask foul is enforced what is the status of the clock for Team B? Do they have an option? Not clear on this one.

First, switch your A and B. A is always the team that puts the ball in play. Second, which rule set? Third, was the ball carrier tackled beyond the line to gain? Not sure if that matters in Fed, but it does in NCAA.

For NFHS, a new rule for the 2017 season allows the offended team the option to start the clock on the snap inside 2 minutes of either the 2nd or 4th quarter. A (the offense) will elect to start the clock on the snap so they don't have to rush, assuming they want to run another play before the half ends. If this foul happened outside of 2 minutes of either half, the clock would start on the ready for play whistle because the runner was tackled inbounds.
