I know this topic comes up what seems like every 6 months, however, I feel it is a good negotiating tool with the AD’s when you try to set your game fees. The list below is what I found on a previous post for 2002 games fees. If your area is not on the list or the figure is wrong could you please update it and keep us all informed.

Texas-Typical game fee check for the "highest" level games $110 to $150.
Michigan- Some conferences are at $60.
Alabama - $50 per game.
Illinois - Single Varsity Game $57
Westchester County, NY, - The varsity fee this year is $83.
Iowa - Payscale would range from $55.00 to $70.00
Northern California - each official is paid the same rate, $78.00
Tennessee - On field officials are paid $75
Long Island New York - Nassau County = $98
Louisiana - $55.00
Arkansas - Varsity - $60
Minnesota: Pay is between $60-$70 per official.
Indiana-- All varsity games $60
Kansas - 5-man crew and pay averages about $60 per man.
W. Va. - $60.00 regardless of class size
Ohio - $60.00
Philadelphia - $62.00 - 5 man crew
North Carolina - Varsity pay is $60 flat fee.

Thanks

In Illinois.

As I said on the other board, there is not set fee for my state. The pay varies by school and conference. And it is also not uncommon to be asked to do two games on a varsity night or afternoon. So it is hard to know what that fee is.

I do have a single varsity game this afternoon and tommorrow night. I will report what the fees are.

Peace

In Southern Wisconsin, the game fees range from $50 to $55. Some conferences pay mileage, some don't.

Anyhow, Friday night games aren't about the money. Saturday youth games are about little else :)

Jason - which chapter are you in?

I'd add that subvarsity games are often right in the range Jason describes, but not always exactly what he listed. Got $100 for two 7th grade games in week one. Some of the Dallas area junior highs pay $25 per game, some pay up to $40.

Here in Wyoming we get $55/gm for varsity $40/sub varsity, and one person (driver gets 40 cents a mile round trip the others 4 cents a mile round trip)

I am in North Texas chapter. I'm sure that some schools are paying more because I have been getting $65 to work 2 Jr. High games and UIL mandates for 2 jr. high games to pay $60. Based off the UIL website the fees I listed are the maximum that they may pay, so it appears that these schools are in violation of the UIL rules. Here is the UIL rule I copied: FEE VIOLATIONS. The maximum fee listed should be paid to officials working varsity contests. For subvarsity contests, unless otherwise specified, fees less than the maximum may be negotiated between the chapter and the school. If a participant school exceeds the maximum fee schedule, the district executive committee shall meet as soon as possible to decide if an emergency warranted the excess fee(s). If the school in question proves an emergency caused the overpayment, the district executive committee does not have to assess a penalty.

So that mean for you guys the mileage is more pay than the game right? :D

In Indiana

There is not a set rate for teh state. Most conferences are at least up to $50, with many going to $55 & $60. There a few hidden locations that pay$70-$80 in the state. No compensation for miles.

I think this is a bad topic to discuss. That's like me at work discussing with all the employees, what they make for negotiating. I hope I am not over-reacting but..... This
topic to me is a little odd.

How are the gate receipt fees handled when several games are played on the same day at Texas Stadium or other large venue?

Hmmm...what's the harm in knowing what other states are paying game officials? It's certainly not unusual for officials to discuss such information.

And I have to disagree with you. It's not like two employees having this discussion at work, and then creating a hostile work environment because one makes more than another. That's inappropriate because of the situations it can breed in a singular workplace.

Apples to oranges, IMHO.

Central Coast Ca.(Gilroy to King City) We get 52/45/40...3 seasons ago it was 47/37/27, thats for FED, V/JV/F....pop-warner has been 42 in the Monterey bay area, but 32 in the Gilroy/Hollister/Morgan Hill area..Now all are 45....cept Gilroy etc...now you get extra 30 to work R....I would have had bout 800 extra last season from that area:(

Fees, etc.

I think game fees should be increased at the same rate that the price on my new pair of knickers does!

Next year in Hawaii there will be a central state organizing body that will handle billings, mechanics, certifications, assignments, etc.

Right now each individual association handles the fees with the leagues they contract with.
