Oh, I also meant to ask what the new PSK rule is.

Thanks.

PSK is the acronym for post scrimmage kick. If there is a foul on the receiving team during a scrimmage kick (punt or field goal, not on a try) and the following conditions are met, (the foul on R only) if accepted is enforced from the basic spot, which is the spot of possession, unless it is a foul behind the basic spot, penalize from the spot of the foul (all but 1 principle)

1) The foul on the receiving team must occur on R's side of the expanded neutral zone.

2) The foul must occur while the ball is on R's side of the neutral zone and before the kick ends.

3) R must be in final possession of the ball when the down is over.

If all these conditions are met, and a foul occurs on R during the kick then psk applies and you must enforce the penalty accordingly. If any or all of the conditions are not present, then you enforce the penalty as before.

It isn't as complicated as it sounds, just take your time and I'm sure you will get it correct.

example......

This one today. Iam line judge in 4 man, back with PR. K25 punts ball and it bounds past R33, as R33 chases, R55 lays out K40 with a block in the back at R's 20. Kick ends up OOB at R's 16.

Now, we have a PSK enforcement. Flag is at the 20 and bean bag is at the end of the kick(enforcement spot).R's ball, 1/10 at thier 8 yard line.

Last year, this would be a loose ball foul, 10 yards from LOS, possible 1st down for K.
