Is there a question here?

No, I think he's just letting us know that they do exist.

So, let me add a question to this situation, Is this kick treated as a true free kick, or as a FG?
So if it is unsuccessful:
* Is K able to recover after 10 yards?
* if the kick goes OOB, does R get free kick foul options, or do they get the ball at the OOB spot (as in a FG attempt).

I've never seen video of a Fair Catch Free Kick not making the end zone, but basically that's my question.

This would have all of the advantages/disadvantages of ANY Free Kick.

It's important to remember, the option to snap or free kick continues, if a snap is initially chosen, a play is run during which a foul is accepted which includes a replay of the down. ie; Fair Catch at mid-field, R elects to snap, gains 10 yards, B commits 15 yd Face mask, replay from the subsequent spot (25 yard line).

R maintains the option to snap, or Free Kick, from the 25 yd line, with all the requirements of a Free Kick.

So if it is unsuccessful:
* Is K able to recover after 10 yards? Yes, provided it touches the ground, as well
* if the kick goes OOB, does R get free kick foul options, or do they get the ball at the OOB spot (as in a FG attempt). All rules pertaining to free kicks are applicable

The only things different about this free kick is that the restraining lines are different and it has the opportunity to score three points.
