This is not aiding the runner but a violation of rule 9-2-2 stating that the runner may not grasp a teammate.

I've seen that a couple of times.
Once a runner on a sweep grabbed his blocker's
jersey, the other time on a QB sneak- the QB grabbed
the snapper's shirt.
So it does happen. Flag it !
