RKBUmp Got games this afternoon. If the earache doesnt let up by tomorrow I will go get it checked out.

Batter pulls bat back on slightly high inside pitch and for whatever reason catcher never puts glove on the ball. Ball caught me square on the chin and drove my jaw back into my right ear. Massive ear ache, bloody nose, trainer trying to call ambulance as Im telling him to just give me a minute. But hey, game ending run somehow crossed the plate in the middle of all of this. How snug was the mask?
RKBUmp Its just loose enough it will drop away from my chin if I look down. I found the impact mark on my mask. It has a short built in throat protector that juts out a little at about a 45 degree angle to the mask face. The ball hit right in the center of this angle just to the right of dead center. So the mask actually caught the ball and transferred all the force to me.
RKBUmp Worked 2 games yesterday, got 2 more today. Feel fine other than jaw is a little sore and ear still aches a little.

RKBUmp I wear hearing aids and I think the earpiece got smashed into the ear canal and just bruised it. Hearing is fine, well other than requiring hearing aids. And yes I caught myself flinch a couple of times yesterday on high pitches.

RKBUmp Its a Wilson but don't know model off the top of my head. Has not been my week have taken 3 more in the mask since that hit. I have apparently become a ball magnet.
