Nevadaref Juulie Downs wroteAnd, btw, there are NO number 1's left in either final. THat's kinda cool. And although "parity" in women's is a long ways from equaling men's, still, none of the women's power teams from the last five years are in the final, and it's the first Final 4 for Texas A & M. So here is a baby step forward in the direction of parity. Agreed and nice to see you posting again. 🙂
grunewar There's a lot of ABC Fans out there. Anybody But Connecticut! And ole Gino's face was priceless! AND, I echo Nevada, nice to see your posts again Juulie!
Judtech Apparently, the ND players attended Mass en Mass' yesterday!! Wow!!! I'm the exception in that I have grown to like ole Geno. Having said that, I will not root for the Irish b/c of that 'interesting' blouse that Muffit had on yesterday. OR I really like the A and M coach, it is the first time I have seen them and I just love the way he handles his team.
Adam 7IronRef wroteWhen did they start having a wimin's tournament? I believe it was the year IX.
Nevadaref I thought that it looked like the lane from Hoosiers. I don't agree with court-coloring or markings which could be confusing to the players, especially in the Final Four. Poor choice by the NCAA on this imo.

Nevadaref My point was that that shape for the lane went out decades ago, so why would the court designer think that it is a good idea to bring it back for these games now? 😕

Pantherdreams My prediction for the women's final is that both teams will definitely shoot better then 20% from the floor.
eyezen Not to be disparaging but there's quite a few empties throughout the arena, especially considering one of the schools is an instate school.

Which is a shame because this has been good basketball. It helps that I have a huge rooting interest (Skylar Diggins). 🙂 But the play has been very good. Officiating has been pretty spot on thus far IMO. And did I mention Skylar Diggins!

Johnny Ringo Did anyone see the face/elbow contact in first half? Thoughts on the intentional foul call on that play? I thought the defender stuck her head into the path of the offensive players normal movement. I know by rule, elbow to head contact warrants more than common foul, but this was a bit much to elevate call - I thought.

They (NCAA) want to get rid of ball handlers clearing out and swinging their elbow high in the defenders face.

They handled it smoothly and correctly. The rule is pretty clear and nowhere does it say, "this rule does not apply if a defender puts her head in the way."
