What about the ends? How do you keep them from fraying?

Seems the folks are interested in starting/continuing the season with good, well recommended shoe laces.

Melt them with a lighter and flatten them a bit by pressing the softened nylon against cold metal. A word of caution: If the lace catches fire, the drips of melted nylon are hotter than the flame that melted it. Be careful.
