is Lunardi?

Nevadaref

You have heard of Bracketology by Joe Lunardi on ESPN, right?

26 Year Gap

Stanford in is biggest surprise. Drexel should be in. I think teams like FL St & Syracuse have a better argument for being there than Stanford. Here's hoping they get bounced early and Drexel goes deep in the NIT.

If I knew who the guy was, would I have asked that question?

I really don't mind the selection of Arkansas. Their RPI and SOS numbers are very good.

I happen to dislike Illinois and Xavier getting in.

I'm also not fond of Stanford and Georgia Tech because I believe that no conference should have more than five teams in. If you are looking for two teams that had down years and may have received berths based upon past performance, despite the committee saying that they don't do that, look at Michigan State and Duke.

I would rather have seen Drexel, Missouri State, Kansas State, and Air Force get a shot, but I'm a small conference kind of guy. I just think that having those type of teams in the tournament makes it more exciting. I live for the upsets! 🙂

Okay, but I'm frankly stunned that you weren't aware of his predicting the NCAA tournament teams and seeds for ESPN over the past few years.

So, now you know.

Arkansas and Illinois should not be in the tournament. Kansas State and Drexel have a good case.

Duke and Maryland were seeded waaay too high. I like VCU to upset Duke.

Respect.

Now all we have to do is earn it.....

How can you have watched college basketball for the last 10 years and be surprised at Duke's seed? Past performance and the conference they belong to had them ranked higher than they should have been all season.

There now I agree with your post. 😀

We'll see about GT.

Been watching ESPN off and on all night, NV.

No mention of this Lunardi dude.

Lunardi started making his bracketology picks for the Blue Ribbon Tournament Yearbook, which he edited. This guy is GOOD and rarely misses more than 1-3 picks and usually is pretty close in picking seeds, too.

Good article about him here:

For those that ever got the Blue Ribbon Tournament Book, they're doing one this year (although Lunardi is no longer part of the production, I think).

Then you missed him because he was definitely on during their selection show. He gave himself a C- this year for his predictions because although he got 63 of the 65 that were invited, he wasn't that accurate with the seeds.

I'm surprised that Maryland got a 4-seed. That seems pretty high. They didn't finish real strong, did they?

Sunflower seeds are good too btw.

I'm picking Central Ct State to go all the way just for the heck of it.

How about you?

Ok then, big boy, how 'bout you put your seeds where your mouth is? I'll not only give you Central CT State, but I'll give you all the 10 thru 16 seeds (28 total teams), and I'll just take the 1st and 2nd seeded teams (8 total teams).

The wager will be a bag of seeds of the winner's choice. (Um, legal seeds, of course.)

OK, so we're not betting your (illegal) sticks and seeds.

Good.

So I get 10 thru 16 of each bracket and you get 1 and 2 of each bracket?

OK. But let's make it interesting.

Winner gets a bag of M&Ms. Large value size.

Winner's choice of plain or peanut, right?

Works for me.

That and 99 cents will get him coffee at McDonald's. 😛

How far " Past performance"? Last year is last year. The question is what will this years team do? Not too much, I don't think. They should win their 1st round and then Pittsburgh...could be serious trouble.

Maryland, I have going to the sweet 16. Then they are in serious trouble. But with Maryland, you NEVER, NEVER know...they could lose the 1st round or to the final 4....
