They aren't anymore difficult. It's simply that Part 2 is used, by the states that use it, as a closed book exam.

Montana uses Part II for Apprentice qualification and upgrading to Certified and Masters. Open book for Apprentice and Certified tests, closed book for Master rating. We use Part I for study and agree, no difference between the two and will find some questions identical.

Bama_Ref_N_Ump I just took was 50 True/False questions. If you study your case book you should do well.
