Mark Cuban Blasts NCAA Basketball
|
Shit rolls downhill. Cuban blasts the NCAA for not preparing athletes for the NBA, Geno blames HS for not preparing athletes for college, despite that fact that the vast majority of HS and NCAA players will not play at the next level.

It is the NBA's job to worry about their game. They are the ones with the one and done rule. They are the ones that control their rules and their staffs. Unless the NBA wants to take on some financial obligations that we are unaware of, then it is your problem to identify players and then coach them and develop them. And things like a shot clock are not going to change that fact. If a player cannot shoot a mid range jumper, do not blame officials for that fact. If they cannot defend, do not blame officials for that fact. And most of all the coaches who make the rules do not care what the NBA is going to do when most of their players will never be drafted or make a NBA roster. You could not do anything with Darko Miličić and it is the NCAA's fault he cannot play? Sorry Mark, but you have lost your mind like every other time.

Oh and this paragraph is totally wrong: "If they want to keep kids in school and keep them from being pro players, they're doing it the exact right way by having the 35-second shot clock and having the game look and officiated the way it is," Cuban said Wednesday night.
Lack of NBA-style basketball isn't keeping NBA-caliber players from jumping ship to the NBA as soon as their one year is up -- money is. |
I saw the article earlier today. I left a message on his FB page about his ignorant ass statement about managing a White Castle. Frickin billionaire clown. BTW, that was him posting here in forum a few years ago.

Coming from Cuban who doesn't have an athletic bone in his body.

NCAA basketball couldn't be less relevant to the nba, how m many nba players spend more than one or two seasons in college anyway?

North America is basically the only model where basketball (and other sports) are connected and run by educational institutes. Almost everyhere else they run club systems where the only purpose of the club is to groom youth players into adult players that will play in rec, semi pro or professional ranks. |
