I don't think the defender ever touched the ball. I also don't think he fouled the player.

Defender wasn't legal and initiated the contact causing the dribbler to lose the ball. Pretty sure that should result in a foul.

That move would be a legal shoulder charge in soccer, but...

Shoulder bump leading to the dribbler losing control of the ball. I'd put air in the whistle here...all made easier given the game situation.

He most definitely hit the ball. That last shot shows that.

And he got in underneath A1's shoulder getting the ball before any incidental contact.

I'm not sure whether there was a foul or not.

I thought the ball handler did some acting rather than take care of the ball.

I also thought it was a poor play call. If a foul was called, UC Irvine would have had the ball at midcourt with about 4.1 secconds left. I think a better play would have been to get the ball to a player who was in scoring position such that the player could have gotten a shot off or the inbounds would have been along the end line.

In most cases I would say this isn't a foul, but the fact that their coach was calling for a foul and it was obvious they had fouls to give, I would call anything marginal.

In reality, I don't think this was a foul, but knowing that they were trying to foul I would foul.

Earlier in the game Louisville had a one on one where it looked like UCI clearly went for the foul and made some decent contact and no foul was called. In most cases this just leads to escalation. But the no call was right, if for the wrong/right reasons.

Got nothing !!!!

Don't anticipate even when you think there will be a "take foul".....

With the 2nd video, I have foul. Definite contact, and even if the defender touched the ball first, it was the contact which prevented the dribbler from being able to maintain control of the ball.

Completely agree. An unfortunate miss that may or may not have ultimately made a difference.
