Ohio State admin tech

Ohio State takes an admin tech for having a player wearing a different number than that listed with the scorer.

Silly mistake.

Nice crowd in Portland. Here to see my Hoyas tonight!

2nd year in a row this has happened in the 2nd rd.Happened in the Patriot League women's final too.Lesson learned here for scorers-ask your coaches to verify the accuracy of their rosters during the warmup clock.

First tech of the tournament!

Scorer having more trouble. Just under 11 mins left in the second half there is a foul by Ohio State during an AP throw-in prior to the pass being touched. The scorer flipped the arrow and it had to be corrected during the next dead ball.

Are the official scorers for the tournament appointed by the host site committee or the NCAA? Man that's embarassing-even I know how to handle the arrow.

To be fair that situation doesn't happen very often. Plus I've heard D1 tables can be terrible, worse than HS tables.

Anyone have an idea how much scorers read the rules?

AremRed-I find it hard to believe that d1 tables can be worse than HS tables. In what aspects is this true (from what you've heard)? As a scorer I've never been in the rulebook.I've obviously read the duties of official scorers but not the rulebook-my learning came from sitting behind the table doing live games.

This is not true.

Agree..I've done a few games where the University of Oregon's table crew was covering the table and, while I know of some fantastic HS table crews, the D1 crew was impeccable.
