That should have been a no-call or offensive. Official ended up straight-lined on the play and got tricked into calling the foul.

This play is a great example of why the NBA is light years ahead of the college game.....

If he had stayed more to the sideline while A2 while dribbling, he could have stepped down in time to see the in between.

On the advice of a far more successful ref than I, I started clinging to the sideline in Trail unless there was a special circumstance that would need for me to come out on the floor.

I agree with this. He had a poor angle, saw contact but couldn't see the action leading to the contact. Move with a purpose and maximize angles.
