I was wondering about him because I hadn't seen him any on TV this season.

Former NBA Refs

And among the former NBA refs, only Joe DeRosa is getting the love. Maybe Olandis and Tommy need a few more years back in D1 to get more assignments?

Also, is Lamont Simpson (not to be confused with Lamar) the only D1 Men's official also on the WNBA staff?

Tommy has been back for a couple of seasons now (maybe 3?). This was OP's first season back.

No, there are a few. I worked a couple of D3 games with one of them this past season.

Nope, Cameron Inouye, Kurt Walker, Tyler Ford, Byron Jarrett, Tony Dawkins, Tommy Nunez, Jeffrey Smith, Don Hudson, Jeff Wooten, and Aaron Smith are all active Men's D1 officials. I would wager that all the female WNBA officials work D1 too.

No doubt...he knows how to work a room. I'm sure I could learn a lot from him in regards to handling coaches.

Does Gene work the Basketball Camp Circuit as an instructor?

Gene probably should work deep. Adams knows that nothing is going to phase an official who's gotten one step away from being a Super Bowl white hat.

Yeah I've seen him at the Big 10/MAC/Summit camp in Indianapolis.

I was really surprised he didn't get the nod this year. The divisional round guys were getting reviewed for that assignment, and of the four Rs, I thought by far his game ran the smoothest. Even the Dez Bryant (non-)catch, like the rule or not, he handled superbly.

The first weekend is scheduled in advance. Gene (and anyone who worked one game last weekend) could still work this week.

I sure hope he does. I love the way he's able to interact with coaches and still stay focused. When he's tableside C, he spends more time with the whistle out of his mouth than in, but still gets the job done. I like to watch and learn from that; it is so much easier said than done.

Okay, I'll be the one. I think Steratore appears extremely lazy on the floor. He doesn't hustle into position, gets straight-lined too often, and often looks disinterested. Perhaps the reason he doesn't move deep into the tournament is simply because the other guys are better than him?

I agree about the hustle and that he looks disinterested at times.
