1) We know only a tip and no catch and shoot.

2) What happens if the ball went off the backboard and into the hoop instead of on the floor?

3) When should the clock start? If no player touches the ball.

1. Correct
2. Throw-in violation. Ball awarded to opposing team at spot of previous throw-in with same amount of time on the clock.
3. When the ball is legally touched by a player. Wait for someone to touch it.

Agreed with Nevada -- but, watch the clock -- some times will start it early (especially on a rebound in a situation similar to the OP).
