Iona/Manhattan--2 plays (Video)

Actually thought the crew was really strong but they got fooled on 2 plays.

1) 1st half just under 2:00--B1 trailing A1 and fools 2 officials into thinking A1 pushed him. I caught this in real time.

2) 1st half 0:02.2--A1 called for travel but he didn't have control at the time if his first foot movements. I got this wrong in real time.

Thank you video gurus.

Agree with you on both...and I too got the travel wrong in real time.

The last couple of seasons I have been trying to really hard to not get fooled by such actions. Players are doing this more and more it seems. I work on only calling fouls if I see the actual contact. I'm sure there have been a few times in my career where I've been fooled on such plays.

It's a trickle down effect from the NBA players...those guys are adept at creating and emulating movements and sounds to appear as though they have been fouled. You can see this in practice when players snap the head back and/or make a loud noise...to try and fool the official into thinking he was fooled. The best answer to this is seeing the entire play and being able to see as much film as possible.
